Recently, I was in Palo Alto for my cousin’s birthday. We went to a hummus shop for lunch. It was called Oren’s Hummus Shop on University Avenue. It turns out, when we went there, it wasn’t really a shop. It was a restaurant. We were bummed because we thought we could buy stuff to bring on the plane. But, no, it really was mostly a restaurant. Since I wasn’t feeling well before we went there, I thought I could just get a couple things. Once we got there I felt better and then I saw the menu and decided I really wanted more things. And, guess what? I ordered five things: olives, rice, hummus, falafel and Moroccan carrots. But I did eat too much because my tummy started hurting. I thought the food was outstanding! The only thing I didn’t like was the Moroccan carrots. I had never had falafel before and it turned out to be really good. Also, I thought the service was ok because it took a little while to get the food but my mom thought the service was very good. She liked that they welcomed us to the restaurant and they explained the menu.
When we were leaving the shop we saw something on the street in front of the restaurant. Guess what it was? A dog wearing sunglasses! He was with a man who was playing guitar. I couldn’t believe it! So I asked my mom to take a picture. Here it is:
I recommend, if you stop by this hummus shop, you make sure to look out for the dog in sunglasses!

March 10, 2017 12:20 amClaire- For the tofu and spices there is about 120 calories (with reduced fat vegan maoniyanse). That said, substitutes for mayo could include mustard or BBQ sauce- both of which would give you some really yummy flavors. I hope that helps and let me know what you think!
