Happy birthday to me!
I was at La Bruschetta for my birthday dinner with my mom, brother, dad and grandfather, because he was visiting town. I was VERY hungry. Right when we got there they brought us some bruschetta. You probably knew they would bring me bruschetta because the restaurant is called La Bruschetta. We did have to bring our own bread because they don’t have gluten free bread there. That could be something they could improve. I almost forgot to tell you – but I shouldn’t forget because it is one of my favorite things – about the olive tapenade. You wouldn’t usually be able to get this because it is not on the menu. The reason we got it is because they made it special for me. We get this because a few years ago they brought out olive tapenade and I loved it and ever since then we always ask for it. When my parents make a reservation they say “Oooh, it’s the olive tapenade kid!”
For my main course I had risotto with peas and mushrooms. They made it special for me with no dairy and with vegetable stock. I really, really like it because it is healthy and tastes good but it is hot. The best way to eat it is to start around the edges and get to the middle.
For my birthday dessert we had chocolate covered strawberries. Mmmmmmmmmmm! I do have to tell you that my mom made these – you can’t order them at the restaurant. But they did put a candle in them for me though.
The atmosphere I really love because when I go into the restaurant and look around they have bottles and bottles of wine. It’s cool because it just looks cool. I would guess they have at least 1000 bottles! Another reason I like it is because they have a television. A basketball game was on while I was there. I only got to watch a little because my mom doesn’t like me to watch TV when I’m eating dinner (as I always tell you in my other posts!).
Before I finish I really should tell you that the service is exceptional. They always remember who we are, they do special things for us and the owner, named Angelo, always shakes my hand or bumps fists with me. It makes me feel very welcome. I highly recommend la Bruschetta and I think you would be happy if you go there.
