I heart hemp hearts

Hemp hearts are great. If you look at one of my earlier posts, Michelle Guerrie – one of my readers – gave me a huge package of food and crystals and cars. And I’m reviewing one of the things in the box.

These hemp hearts are made by a brand called Manitoba Harvest, obviously from Canada. They have a lot of protein – 10 g per serving which makes these very healthy for you and they are also very yummy. They taste kind of like other seeds but squishier. They are also very filling.

You can eat these on salad, cereal and yogurt – that’s what the package says. But I think these would even taste good on ice cream. In fact, I just ate them straight out of the package in a bowl.

I got a spoon to eat my hemp hearts and just scooped them straight into my mouth. I’m already feeling like I have more energy and now I feel like playing baseball. Before I ate these I felt kind of tired and hungry.

My dad is always falling asleep during the day. He falls asleep when he reads a book and he falls asleep even at the dinner table. Last night he even fell asleep at a restaurant! I would recommend hemp hearts for him because they would keep him awake. If any of you, reading this post, fall asleep a lot, I would recommend hemp hearts for you too.

Yay! I have been patiently waiting for reports! Have you made ice dolphins yet? You know if you get your Mom and Dad to help, you can blend mint or blueberries or red berries with water and make colored ice dolphins! Did the pear make it? I didn’t see it in the picture. What did you think of the green smoothie crackers? What did you think of the hazelnuts? Roasted hazelnuts are so wonderful. I love ALL nuts! What are your favorite nuts? Has your Mom and Dad tried the Dragon Food? 🙂

I eat those hemp hearts right at my desk. I keep some in my car for emergencies. Emergency in that I am hungry in my car. Haahha. I agree, Max, they give me instant energy. I think they are reminiscent of sunflower seeds. Had you ever tried hemp hearts before? Have you had chia seeds? Teff? Amaranth?

I have been trying things slowly so that it will last for a longer time. I did do the ice dolphins with mint and let it melt into my cup. I liked it and now I want to try your idea of blending blueberries. The pear did not make it 🙁 the green smoothie crackers were yummy. I tried them plain. I might review them. I haven’t tried the hazelnuts yet but am planning to try the hazelnuts and the dark chocolate too! I have not had teff or amaranth but I have had hemp hearts before and chia seeds. My mom and dad haven’t tried the dragon food yet but my dad wants to because he likes spicy food. We are also going to try the Thai chickpea coconut curry this week! I like the art pictures you sent. I am going to put them up in my loft at home.
