My mom, my aunt, my uncle and my grandpa had just gone to a New York Rangers game. Bad news. They lost 5-2 to the Capitals. I was kind of sad because my grandpa was rooting for the Rangers and it was his birthday celebration week. So we were hoping that the dinner we had planned afterwards would cheer him up.
The restaurant Robert NYC is located in Columbus Circle at the top of a tall building. Since we were at the top of this skyscraper we had an amazing view of the city. When it was light out the view was incredible. We could see buildings, a statue of Christopher Columbus and Central Park. But when it got dark it was double incredible. All the lights were on and it stood out in the dark and the lights looked like they were twinkling.
Now, I want to talk about the food.
For starters my mom and dad ordered corn chowder. Me and my brother tried a bite and it was so good we stole it from them! It tasted like actual corn and the texture was very smooth.
For my main course, I was going to order pasta with olives and broccoli in an olive oil and garlic sauce. They did have gluten free pasta but they wouldn’t put the olives and broccoli or the sauce I wanted! So I ended up having just plain pasta with tomato sauce. It was fine but I was a little disappointed. However, I was happy that the food came very quickly and I scarfed down the whole bowl.
My mom ordered the risotto with asparagus and mushrooms. I didn’t try it so I don’t know how it was but my mom thought it was mediocre. Especially for the prices!
I would recommend you go to Robert but maybe not for a whole meal because it is really expensive and I didn’t think the food was incredible. But the view is, so it might be good for going for tea and dessert or a little something.
