Hot tea for a sick me

You might remember that about a week ago I had this amazing trip to San Francisco to catch the SF Giants opening day. Well, I think I was staying out a little too late at night on that trip and when I got home I got sick. In fact, I basically missed a whole week of school. I had a major fever, my body was weak and both of my ears hurt. Badly.

So I have been drinking a lot of tea. A lot of people assume that all tea is gluten free, but it is not. Some teas have barley malt in them which gives it a sweet taste. That grain has gluten in it. So you have to be careful if you are gluten free to check for barley malt in your tea.

Traditional medicinals is the brand of tea that I am drinking right now. I love their Chamomile and Lavender tea. The taste of the tea is what makes this special. It is actually quite sweet and even gets better later in the drink. It feels great when you are sick and after a hot drink, a warm and relieving feeling washes throughout your entire body. The color is like a jar of honey. It is completely golden. It is completely incredible.

Sometimes tea is good by itself or with breakfast and today I had it with breakfast. It goes good with some cinnamon raisin bread with butter on it and some cashews on the side. The tea gave me a warm flavor and, the cinnamon raisin bread was that soft and buttery taste. The cashews were the crunchy taste. They went together really well.

So if you’ve tried this- you get it. If not, it’s time to taste those outstanding flavors for yourself. Make it. Drink it. Sip it. Sit back and enjoy.
