Have you ever tried Braised Mushrooms? These juicy balls of heaven create the aroma of your lifetime. It is perfect for a snack or on the side of a meal. So I am going to share with you our recipe for slow cooker garlic braised mushrooms.
You might find this surprising but half of my class doesn’t seem to know what mushrooms are. When I bring mushrooms to school, people ask me what they are. Lots of other people have seen mushrooms and eaten them but don’t know much about them. Mushrooms are the part of a fungus that grows above ground. They are a great source of vitamin B and even have protein. Portobello mushrooms are actually a great substitution for meat. Also, half of the world’s mushrooms are grown and cultivated and produced in China.
Both me and my mom love these mushrooms like crazy. When you are making them, your kitchen smells so good. I would keep it that way forever. The taste is so juicy and garlicky. Your eyes open in great joy as you munch on this incredible food. When you bite into the juiciness, the mushroom explodes but so do your taste buds.
These are so easy to make. They only take 4 hours so you can put them in the slow cooker before you go to bed and wake up to the amazing smell in the morning. Or make them in the morning and have them ready for lunch. This recipe is one of those where you can make as little or as much as you want and you kinda just throw it all together.
SLOW COOKER GARLIC BRAISED MUSHROOMS
Mushrooms
Vegetable broth
Garlic
Optional: Seasoning mix
Wash mushrooms and remove the very end of the stems. Leave whole.
For every package of mushrooms, mince 6 cloves of garlic.
Add mushrooms and minced garlic to the slow cooker. Cover with vegetable broth.
These mushrooms are great just like this with the garlic flavor but if you want to add seasoning you can. In fact, you can season them any way you want. An easy way is to just add Italian seasoning mix.
Set the slow cooker to low temperature and cook for four hours.
