I’m going to introduce today’s blog post through a short story. One day, a family drove down into the valley to a restaurant called 118 degrees. The day was so hot it felt like 118 degrees Fahrenheit. They went into the restuarant and slopped an insane amount of food into their mouths over and over and over again. That was my family.
Going to the valley is a bit far on the weekdays for us but on the weekend it’s totally worth the drive. I felt like I needed a wheelchair after I had eaten a colossal amount of food. A.K.A. I could barely see my feet as my stomach was stretched out to the edges.
I am getting desperate to tell you about the food.
First course/appetizers: Pesto stuffed mushrooms and the New Mexico Nachos.
Second course/entree: The Breakfast Burrito with spicy cheese and salsa and mushrooms topped with a sweet cheese dressing.
Third course/dessert:The sampler plate with Chocolate Cake, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Apple Cobbler.
Plus… Two Chocolate Supreme smoothies shared around the table.
Usually, I discuss all the food and their tastes. Except, this time we ate too much food for me to describe anything. The understatement of the century would be too say that these are great. They were Superior and hit the spot. That’s what you need to know. This place is a raw food restaurant, it is plant based and there are lots of gluten free choices. The portions are big and like I said everything was so good tasting I gobbled it all up to the point I can hardly even describe the details.
In case you were wondering what everyone else ate my mom had the living lasagna which she really liked and my brother had the tacos. My dad had the mole and my grandma had a caesar salad. Everyone liked their food and everyone ate too much. My brother had to lay down on the bench he was so full.
Wherever you are, I suggest you take the time out of your day to come here. Don’t tell me if you are going or not because if you are and I’m not going, you are going to make me jealous!!!
