An unbelievable experience you must read about

The best team in baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers, has had their worst losing streak since 2004.  I am a big fan of Cody Bellinger, the lefty first baseman on the Dodgers.  I introduced my mom to him and now she loves him too.   So we wanted to go to a game and see him play in person.

My mom’s friend got us tickets.  But it wasn’t just regular old tickets!  We got seats at the Lexus Dugout Club.  Those are cushioned seats just a few rows away from the field.  Awesome, right?  That’s not even close to the treatment we got.   The people in the Lexus Dugout Club get their own buffet, and air-conditioned TV room.  Plus we got special VIP parking.  And Mom had set up a surprise for us, but she wouldn’t tell me what it was no matter how hard I tried to get her to tell me.

The Dodgers are 92-51, forty one games above .500.  They’ve been losing a lot lately but we thought they were going to break their losing streak today.  They were playing the Colorado Rockies who are really good. They have a few of the best players in baseball like Nolan Arenado and Charlie Blackmon. Their record is also good enough for a wild-card spot in the NL.

The starter for the Dodgers was Rich Hill.  We met his brother in line for the dugout club entrance.  He was really nice.  The Dodgers game was not starting for a while, so we had plenty of time to get settled in.  The first thing we noticed was that it was so huge.  And delicious smells were coming from all over the room.  I couldn’t wait to get started on my eating fiesta.

The first thing I saw were omelettes.  Then I saw potatoes, hummus, olives, chips, pizza, dessert, artichokes, popcorn and literally every food in existence.  I stacked my plate high with food and food, and did I mention- food?! I thought I was going to cry myself to sleep that night with tears of food joy.  Once I had gotten the food we went out on to the field.

I have to say the food situation is incredible there especially if you have allergies or different food preferences.  There was a ton of vegetarian and vegan food options and they were also really accommodating for gluten free food.  And everything was delicious.  In addition to the buffet inside you can order from your seat off a special menu.  And between your seats and the Dugout Club there are stacks of free snacks and ice pops and cold water (which we really needed because it was so hot out!)

Rich Hill got off to a rocky start in the first inning.  Hahahahaha.  Get it?  Rocky and Rockies.  Anyway, they had a one to nothing lead after the first.  It was a very Rocky day for Rich Hill.  He gave up a grand slam in the eight to Mark Reynolds and the Rockies won 8-1.  Awwwwwwww.  In the fifth inning, though, my mom had gotten us a surprise.  She had arranged for us to get autographed Cody Bellinger baseballs and bobbleheads.  It was really awesome.

We also got veggie dogs with gluten free buns and chips and salsa.  All in all, it was a memorable experience and I hope I get to do again sometime soon.  If you get the chance to do this you should.  You won’t ever forget it!
